Z-score for 5 = .41

Z-score for 2 = -.82

Z-score for 9 = 2.04

Z-score for 4 = 0

Z-score for 5 = .41

3.13) Z-score for 12 = -1.99

Final Project topic proposal

I decided to create my final project based on carbonated beverages. Supposedly, these types of drinks extract calcium from the human body. Therefore, muscle cramps should be repeatedly occurring in people who drink more carbonated drinks and less milk. My survey finds out how much of each substance is consumed on a daily basis and if the person gets muscle cramps frequently. I would prefer my surveyed people to be in their early twenties, as this would better show the immediate effects of calcium extraction due to carbonated drinks. Therefore, most people on campus will be suitable for participating in my research. This survey could definitely educate people on the dangers of carbonated beverages. However, I created this topic mostly for my own curiosity on the matter. The data will come from my survey and any others that I research for comparison. My hypothesis is that people who drink more carbonated beverages than milk will gain muscles cramps more often than those who don’t. The research that is going to be conducted will either reject my hypothesis or not. At first, I was going to conduct this study based solely on soda pop. But then I realized that carbonation is supposed to be the main cause of muscle cramps. So the consumption of any and all carbonated beverages should result in my hypothesis being correct. Milk is rich in calcium and therefore would supposedly reduce muscle cramps.
